Child Exploitation
Contrary to common misconceptions, individuals responsible for child abuse and exploitation aren't necessarily the stereotypical strangers lurking around playgrounds. Research indicates that a staggering 90% of child abuse cases, especially those of a sexual nature, involve perpetrators known to the victims.
Our training program aims to equip you with a comprehensive understanding of the issues surrounding child criminal and sexual exploitation. By completing this training, you'll gain the ability to:
1. Recognise the role of criminal (county) lines and sexual exploitation in youth violence.
2. Identify key risk factors and behavioral indicators associated with the exploitation of young people.
3. Demonstrate familiarity with local safeguarding protocols, police procedures, and available support services.
4. Analyse protective factors crucial for prevention and utilise effective intervention tools.
5. Investigate the link between missing young people and potential exploitation.
At our organisation, we prioritise raising awareness and educating various groups, including young individuals, parents, and professionals. Empowering Families through the Strengthening Families Strengthening Communities Program
Our Strengthening Families Strengthening Communities program is a comprehensive 13-week evidence-based violence prevention parenting initiative. Co-facilitated by skilled practitioners, the program unfolds through three-hour weekly sessions in a group setting. Rooted in various theories, including attachment, adult learning, social learning, and others, the program is designed to foster protective factors linked to positive outcomes for children.
With a focus on building strong and warm parent-child relationships, the program emphasizes the importance of clear boundary setting. By delving into these key aspects, we aim to empower families with practical tools and insights that contribute to a nurturing and violence-free environment for children. Join us on this transformative journey as we strengthen families and communities through knowledge, support, and evidence-based practices.
Father's Workshop
Empowering Father Figures for Healthy Connections
Our intervention is carefully crafted to empower men who identify as 'father figures' to (re)connect with their children in a healthy and nurturing manner. While navigating the challenges of fatherhood can be daunting, our primary objective is to unite and fortify the family unit, employing strategies that not only prevent discord but also restore robust family attachments.
Tailored sessions are designed specifically for fathers facing difficulties in engaging with their children due to family breakdowns or challenges arising from court orders.
At bE, we advocate for early identification and involvement of fathers, adopting a proactive approach that includes insisting on men's active participation in services. Our commitment extends to supporting practitioners in disseminating pertinent information related to fatherhood and offering guidance on best practices in recruiting and retaining men for father's programs.
Within this field, we provide an array of services covering diverse topics, including mentoring, parenting skills development, individual and family coaching, anger management sessions, domestic violence prevention, parent advocacy, child support and visitation assistance, educational and employment mentoring, Father-to-Father mentorship, and mediation and conflict resolution support.
